General Q&A's

  • How Do I Volunteer - come and have a chat with us on a training night, we are always looking for handy helpers and work experience participants Duke of Edinburgh Awards people most welcome (under 16's will need an adult present at all times)

  • When should we begin training - ASAP, it doesn't matter if you dog is 3 months or 10 years when they first come to you, as long as your vaccinations are complete you can come to club night but if your looking for more support from day 1, do check out our volunteer behaviourist JJ Barrs at 121 dog training who can visit you and offer training to accompany your learning at club night.

  • I'm not sure my dog or I will like it you can only try..... we try to help everyone feel welcome and like they are going away with more knowledge but we are not a business and its all run by kind and caring people who want to make a difference. Your support is greatly appreciated.

  • My dog is reactive or aggressive - we harbour an inclusive environment and discourage anyone from judging or being rude, all dogs and owners deserve an education and if attending group classes could be beneficial then we will support your learning in the group setting as much as we can. We must remind you however that its safety first above all else so dogs with aggression concerns will be asked to be muzzled while attending training. You may like to consider some 1:1 training with your dog before attending classes to feel more empowered and thus setting up for success.

  • I'm not sure if I need classes or 1:1's - we do not offer 1:1 training but work in connection to JJ Barrs at 121 Dog Training and perhaps a tailored learning approach could be what your looking for, your more then welcome to come for the social club aspect each week and join the classes for that reason. We are also happy to support you in any training set out by your behaviourist where a group class setting is advised for practice. We can advise but cannot work with you on behavioural concerns or problem areas outside of class learning, this is where a behaviourist needs to be involved.

  • Can the family come with us? - yes, but our rule of thumb is that the person holding the lead is responsible for training your dog so everyone else will need to sit in the waiting area of the hall.

  • What facilities are there? - the hall has toilets, lots of space, disabled access, and parking
